Sketching Tour of MacCurtain Street

Sunday 2nd October

Tour 1 @11:30-13:30 | Tour 2 @14.00-16:00

CCAE and CIT Architecture Lecturer Jim Harrison will lead a sketching tour along MacCurtain Street aimed at anyone with an interest in its rich mix of buildings, who would love to extend their knowledge through drawing. Jim will explain how different ways of drawing using perspective grids can be used to capture streetscapes, interior sketches and other such views of the city. It is not just about making pictures though, but about observing and asking questions in order to understand what we see. Guidance will be given on the use of drawing techniques and media, so no previous experience is necessary — only the willingness to see through drawing. This is a family friendly event, however children must be accompanied and supervised by an adult at all times. Prizes will be awarded for the best sketch at the end of the tour.

Departure point: Everyman Palace Theatre Theatre Entrance Canopy

Guided by: Jim Harrison

NOTE: This tour is subject to a maximum capacity of 30 people, tickets have been allocated through our lottery, which is now closed.
