Friday 30th September 18:00-20:00
We are delighted to host what we hope will be a wonderful evening of discussion centered on collaborative work that moves beyond conventional architectural practice . Our speakers include architects, John McLaughlin and James O’Donovan, who collaborated on the design of the Irish Pavilion for Venice 2014 and will discuss their experience of fusing the worlds of installation art, furniture design, street design and architecture in a collaborative context; Tara Kennedy, who will discuss her experience of working as an artist and architect whose focus on collaborative design, teaching and active research involves an exploration of how architecture can encourage new ways of probing existing situations; and Ciana March who will discuss the innovative exploration of fashion and architecture through Concrete Collar, creating photographic art that features the fashioned body captured in often overlooked settings of architectural interest. Following these contributions, there will be a conversation on the role and scope of architecture in shaping the built world and other aspects of art and life.
Location: The Atrium, Cork City Hall
All are welcome!
